Today was an uneventful day. Just driving US 395 from Lone Pine to Truckee. This is a very fine drive, and every time I see something new. This time I noticed this structure (which has been there for years) about 8 miles south of Lone Pine, on the northwest shore of Owens Dry Lake.

This plant has a pretty complicated recent history, and I am currently working on getting permission to photograph it. This note has some history.
Anyone that has read this far will have notived that my interests have gone to photographing sites and structures as much or more than landscapes. I am interested in the impact man has on these harsh landscapes. The "footprints" are fascinating.
